Who is Long Island Works Coalition?

The Long Island Works Coalition is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 that prepares today's students for tomorrow's workforce.  It was founded in 1999.

In May 2009, Long Island Works Coalition became a division of Goodwill Industries of Greater NY and Northern NJ.  Goodwill’s mission is to provide vocational, training and job placement services for people with barriers to employment, including persons with disabilities, as well as in school and after-school programs.

While Goodwill has a wide variety of programs, Long Island Works seeks specifically to enhance Goodwill’s programs for Youth, Education and Literacy, and Employment.

The Long Island Works Coalition builds collaborative relationships among employers, workers, and the educational community (kindergarten through college).  It is an inclusive organization helping to prepare students and graduates for full participation in the economic and social fabric of the region.
